Which BK-7?

Hey guys,
You're always so awesome helping people out, I hope you an give me some advice.

I was in my LGS today, and was so happy to have found a local B&M that stocks BK&T Blades.
I had been trying to decide if I wanted a BK-7 or a BK-9 for my next, big camp knife. I know many (ok - most?) will disagree, but I fell in love with the 7.

Anyway, they have a couple Ka-Bar 7's in stock, as well as one Camillus.
They're asking the same price for both.
(Yes, it's higher than Tomars, but I think I can get them down a little; plus, know that I found 'em, I don't mind helping 'em stay in business.)
I'll probably strip it at some point, and it's going to be a user, not a safe queen. Resale isn't super high on my priority list, but I always like to own something "special" when I can. I understand there isn't much physical difference between the two.
So, should I go with the warranty, support, and current production Ka-Bar BK-7? Or should I snap up the Camillus, simply because the opportunity isn't likely to present itself again?
Thanks for the help!

I say pick up the Cam, Kabars are great you can pick one up next. This will not be your last Becker.

Well, I'm going to jump in here and give a different opinion. You said it was going to be a user knife - great! If I remember it right, there's nothing special about a Cam over a Kabar. Leave the Cam for a collector and get the Becker with the warranty for yourself to use hard.

If it were me, I'd buy the Cam, but I wouldn't use it! :D

Actually that is a good point. I'd probably buy the cam and fondle it for a while and then sell or trade it to a collector and get myself a user.

I use my cam BK10. Not a lot but I do use it. I would use it more if I had less knives. :D

This will not be your last Becker.

Not my first; certainly not my last.
Think I'll grab the Cam while I can' and see where that leads me. Thanks everyone! I'll post pics, but it may be a week before I get back down there.

Went down yesterday to p/u a BK7. Had a couple KaBars and a Camillus in stock, each marked $120.
Trying to prep the guy, I mentioned that I'd seen 'em for $73 online. (Actually, it's less than that right now!)
I should add that he's got a reputation as a gruff old codger; I tend to be pretty open-minded and easy-going.
And probably 30 years his junior.
Anyhow, when negotiating, if there's no price listed you ask how much, right? And if there is, and you want to work on it, you present your offer?
It's not like I need it this weekend or anything.
I asked him if he'd be willing to accept $90 for one.
Anyway, any more than that and I really feel I'm being taken for a ride. Still, if he came back with $95 or $100 I'd a done it, just because I was there and to support a local businessman.
He says "you're going to come in here and tell me how much I'm got to take for it? I'd sell 'em for $90 all day, but not if you're going to tell me how to run my business."
I explained that I was merely asking if he'd accept it. He didn't - and then refused to sell me some commodity-type items I'd already picked out.
I guess I see where he gets his rep, and since my only known LKS that carried KaBar went out after SHOT, looks like I'll be getting a KaBar from Tomar soon.

lol, and that customer service is why he still has a Camillus for sale :) Tomar's all day and I would think about a bk9. Like it was said the Camillus is great for a collection but for use... 1095 Cro-Van.

Btw: I like to support local businesses too. But they should realize that the extra price tag should come with good customer service. Just my .02
