Which book on knife-sharpening is a must (no Juranitch)?

I am familiar with the existence of "The razor edge book of sharpening - John Juranitch". But really, I'm turned of by some dude who needs to shave with an axe. Seems like stupid commercial stunt to me (makes my think of the macho's at Cold Steel - bashing bricks etc)...
I wonder how the RazorEdge-people slice an apple, with a golfclub or something?

Other options that look nice:

-"Sharpening, the professional way" by Jim Kingshott (ISBN: 0946 81 94 83)
-"The complete guide to sharpening" by Leonard Lee (ISBN: 1561 58 06 78)

Any insights regarding these last two titles are very welcome :-)

Thanks a bunch.

Hey Koolstof,

Check out this book:

http://www.ameritech.net/users/knives/index.htm

Actually it looks like most of his stuff is on-line. I didn't buy the book, but read all the pages. Great stuff, the guy has tried everything. There's a picture of the guy using paper wheels on there.

This is the page that got me hooked on paper wheels:

Try it out. I can't get any of the other systems to work worth squat. (the Tormek might be better but big$$$).

I've even tried the SC paper on glass and I can't get as consistent and as sharp an edge (oooops back on the soap box again) as the wheels.

Anyway, check out the online information. Maybe you'll buy the book.

Steve
