Which Busse-kin for me? (and knife porn is welcome)

Because I'm too cheap to go the extra two miles and go with a TGLB I have decided to buy a Busse-kin. I'm between the Rodent 7 and the Scrapyard 711. Between these two price isn't an issue but the Res-C handles of the 711 is a plus because I live where its wet and the less exposed steel the better, plus the shock absorption for hard use is preferable. On the other hand from what I've heard the R-7 is a bit heftier for better chopping and micarta is great too but I'm a bit concerned about the handle shape. My last concern for the 711 is that the handle might not stand up to batoning. So which one do you prefer? Why? Also for the knife porn keep to my mind set on these two knives some comparisons and other pics would be more than enjoyable.

Thanks,
Jake

hello dandy, im not going to be much help. I like the grip on the r 9 and basic 10. should be similar to the models you posted. there is a busse and kin subforum here to check out.

Yes. It has a 9 inch blade, and is an AWESOME knife. 1/4 inch slab of SR 101, great ergos, and the very first blade Swamp Rat made. Problem is, they were discontinued about 5 years ago.

I bought mine on the Forum about a month ago. They do pop up every once in a while.

ETA: Oh yes, it has Dual Heat treat if you decide to find out what is inside a rock.

Check the exchange often and see if you can snag a Camp Tramp. Its what the 711 is trying to be (I am not saying the 711 is bad but the Camp Tramp is better imo) but it has a round choil which I much prefer to the square ones on the Scrapyard offerings oh and its got that awesome Swamp Rat DHT.
