Okay, I'm trying to decide between getting another Mean Street or a new Basic #3. I like the lengths and thickness of each but haven't touched a #3. Anybody have both?

Have had both. I really prefer the handles and heft of the mistress/mean st. badger attack etc over the basics counterparts. are they worth the extra dough? well, your call

I concur, I have the "Steel Heart II" and "Badger Attack", and there's nothing like micarta for working and looks. I'm also getting ready to order a "Mean Street". Once you get one of these "Busse" knives, they can be very addictive.

If you want a robust handle that pilots the blade extremely well for caping and skinning, you might want to go with the Basic #3, due to the size and purchase afforded by the handle...if you want an everyday carry knife which is easily accessible, maneuverable, and tougher than nails, go with the Mean Street.

I will have Mean Streets in stock in a few days if you are interested.

I have heard great things from many people (even a Mad Dog dealer said he prefered a Steel Heart in INFI over a Mad Dog were the world to end tomorrow...)

Andy, I will call you tomorrow...
Thanks
Jess
