Can someone point me to a thread or info somewhere that identifies (even if only current models) which Case patterns that have half stops? I have a Peanut and Swayback that have them so curious which others have them as well. Thanks.

The big congress #88 has them I think some if not all the smaller congress do to, some of the teardrop jack knives have them, the coke bottle 50 pattern, the saddlehorn #100, and I think maybe the big clasp #72 has them.

Why do people like half stops?

There is multiple reasons. One is that they are a safety feature. If you were to improperly use the knife, and have the blade close, they could catch it and prevent it from cutting you. A good half-stop can also be a demonstration of quality. Lastly (this is more applicable to non-knife implements such as SAK large scrawdrivers) is that they provide more adaptability and fit better into compact places or allow the tool to be torqued with different force.
