Which coating is easier to strip?

Hey guys, so I'm going to pick up a varsity BURP and plan to strip it. Given that, have any of you found that one coating is easier to strip than the others? And--even more important--does the decarb layer/ stubbornness differ from one coating to another?

So far, I've stripped tanker grey and black blades. The black on my Trash 2 + decarb came off easiest. I think the tanker grey on my TGLB (and it's decarb) was the toughest.

I've used Jasco paint/epoxy stripper the last few times--that stuff is great, the coating just slides right off.

What do you think?

I've etched/stripped 4 or 5.

The decarb was the same labor..it was the amount that varied.

Black and Sage coatings came off like a prom dress..

The older OD Green (crowned spine/RMD days) and the Actic White were a straight bitch.

Thanks man, I've had pretty good luck stripping black; I may try sage this time.

Any one else find less decarb under one coat vs another--or are the two unrelated?

Agree with icky on the white coating being a complete B. Black and moss came off like nothing for me. If had to pick one would probably tryt the forest/black/blue, as those coatings looks less textured or globbed on.

Done 6 so far. Old black came off very easy, new black was a real B. Tanker both old and new came right off.

Good luck, and pix please!!!!

Any body tried stripping Hammer Silver yet ?
It'll take some elbow grease, with the CBT, but i think that BURP is one of the best stripper contenders lol i think it"ll be the 1st blade ill try to strip.

The easiest I've ever stripped was tanker gray...
The most difficult I've eve stripped was tanker gray...
Not the same knife, BTW. I've stripped 10.
I don't think color is the primary factor that determines stripping difficulty.
But then again...10 isn't a broad experience base.

It would be nice to know which colors are done first for those planning to strip. I don't care about any color other than shiny. I more than anything wish for naked out of the box but guess that doesn't happen from the vibe I'm picking up?

Yeah, comp finish would be great on this offering. I guess it's not really the color coat I'm asking about--it's which color has the least amount of decarb under it. Or, maybe it does not work that way???

I've stripped 6 so far--the tanker grey + decarb on my TGLB was the toughest.

Comp finish is my favorite...thats what I love about INFI strippers, you can get pretty close to same results.

I agree with Petey..I don't think color has much to do w/ how easy it would be to strip...or the amount of decarb.

I have a BG Grudge on the way I might be stripping...would be the first one w/ coating on the scales I'll attempt...I'm assuming they will be micarta ad opposed to G-10.

Thanks guys... I'll guess I'll just order the color I like, and take it from there...

BTW, does anyone know what "desert bronze" looks like? I'm guessing it's a bit more subdued than the bronze that the Garth editions sport. I'm leaning toward desert sage w/ black canvas.
