ps: let's narrow it down to folders, blade length from 2.5" to 4"? if there is such a thing

Your best bet would probably be a small, plain used Sebbie from the exchange forums here.

Be warned though even used they can be pretty pricey!

well, i only posted this because you asked me earlier regarding HOK stuff remember?? can anyone else be of some help?

Get a small plain Sebbie like your friend said. As to why: The small Sebbie is, IMHO, more realistic for everyday use and carry than it's big brother due to it's sub-3" blade and over-all length. However, it can pretty much stand up to any task for which a large Sebbie would be used. Also, the plain finish keeps the price down significantly. You could score a new one for under $300.00 depending on where you look. I would recommend a regular Sebbie over the classic design but that's a matter of personal preference. Go to the search engine and look for "classic" and "regular" in the CRK forum and you will find at least two threads about classic vs. regular. Good luck.

I just happened to have bought an M16-12Z
That's what it says on the blade anyway, I don't know if that's a proper model number. Perfect for my use and not too big.

I believe you have confused CRK with CRKT. CRK = Chris Reeve Knives while CRKT = Columbia River Knife and Tool.

Being a terminal history buff - especially in knives, the first CRKs I bought were the Pesh-Kabz. I like this knife because I use the semi-sharp tip (fat tip) for opening junk and other day-to-day chores, but can keep the 'protected blade' section 'poppin' sharp all the time with little or no effort - always having it ready for anything. Naturally, it can be used for defensive. This is a perfect EDC for me because of this combination - - and the great size.

I also own and love my Kaspers - owning several. These are superb knives for all occasions as well; although a little more design oriented to defensive work. Again - exceptional EDC's .

Anytime I have to go into the big Cities around here - Seattle and Tacoma, I throw a Bear Claw around my neck.

Here are three of my favorite CRK&T's . So far I only have purchased two of each, although I am now thinking about a small Kasper too. :p

No offense but again this thread is referring to CRK (Chris Reeve Knives) and not CRKT (Columbia River Knife and Tool).
