I've been looking for a nice knife for EDC.
I currently carry a Spyderco Military but would like something a little more classy.

I collect custom Bowies and haven't really been interested in the custom folders. However, now I might like to get a custom folder for edc.

I like the butter smoothness opening and closing of the Elishewitz knives. I know it boils down to personal preference.

Ironwood is nice but I think it gets very dark in color over time.

Damascus blades are good looking but I'm not sure about sharpness.

Which one of these two would you choose?
Or maybe I should just carry the Spyderco?

I'd choose the second one. I just like the ironwood scales better.
Normally I'd go for the damascus blade but I don't really care for the handle on that one.

RWS,

I'm kinda likin the Ironwood. I don't care for the blue scales on #1.
I have noticed that the Elishewitz Damasteel blades hold an amazing edge.

I have a few of Allens' older folders, Janus, Spectre and Phantom and all are great.

good luck

I have a neo linerlock, which is my favorite.
Hmmmm,, I don't know,
Personally I prefer the shape of the damascus knife,
but the other one is cool too.
I don't know.......
tough choice.... :(

I prefer the 2nd one, just because of the sweet sweet wood scales. You'll probably feel better about using it like a champ too. The first one is a little too pretty IMO.

:p

The second one is stunning. The ironwood/damascus work well together, and I like the bladeshape more than the first one.

#1 is the one i would get, allens shop is only 40 miles or so from me, i go thru the town its in (new braunfalls, or san marcos, cant remember lol) all the time am gonna stop by and check it out one day when i have the time, a bud has one of his knifes (a folder, 3.5" blade, dont know name/model) and fit/finish is top notch on it, have always been suprised he's not more popular than he is..........

Give some thought to wear and tear in the pocket. The mokume bolsters won't look like they do now after a period of wear. Same is true of the scales. I think the micarta will hold up better. My own Elishewitz has the damasteel blade and I really like it. It performs pretty well and looks stunning as the image shows. I guess I'd opt for knife #1 for those reasons. They are wonderful knives. You will be happy with any of them.
