which detent

I just picked up my Journeyman and heard a "rattle" I grasped the scales and flicked the blade and it flung open "easily" . It hasn't done this before and I prefer a little more retention on the closed blade. How can I adjust the closed retention of the blade?

is the pivot tightened so you have no blade play when opened? it will have 2 detents also, one on each liner. you can tweak the retaining tension on those independently.

My 13 had the same issue. I took it a part and adjusted the nonlocking side detent ball in towards the blade tang. It made a huge difference. I would give that a go, it is fairly easy to accomplish.

The rattle is probably the stop pin. It's loose by design - a floating stop pin. It moves so the blade won't always be hitting the same spot.
