Which do you prefer AXIS lock or Arch Lock?

Wanted to find out which one you all thought was better and why?
AXIS or Arch?

Theire are a couple of threads on this already if you search that were posted a while back.

Anyway Benchmade came out with the Axis lock first and then SOG followed by using Benchmades idea and creating the ARC lock. They're both great locks and will serve you well but my personal preference would have to be the SOG Arc lock just because its alot smoother. Although the Axis lock was the original it is just not as smooth as my arc locks.

And the Axis, in my experience, wears in better and holds better over time - the Axis wears into tighter adjustment, the Arc wears into sloppier fit.

I'd like to see more Arc-lock knives, especially if SOG would tweak it. And offer it in more plain edge knives, and better knives.

I have a 710 that I bought in early 1999 and it's still my edc. I think it's a fantastic lock, and I highly recommend it. I've never owned a SOG arc-lock so have no opinion on it. Thanks, Jim

Benchmade Axis Lock.

Although he Arc-Lock is pretty good and has an interesting action, I >much< prefer the Axis.
