I have an older Z2 and want to convert it to LED.I want something close in brightness but run time is #1.Please list a source.I've looked around on candle power forums but don't want to spend a month researching what I need.

Thanks for any suggestions or help.

Malkoff M60 in one of its variants. The LL module will be similar output to the incan SF bulb and the full power M60 (260lm) blows the standard bulb away. The LL module has a average of 8+ hours of runtime and the full power module is about 2 hours. Malkoff modules are known for premium quality and reliability, basically the best you can get without being full custom.

+3. You cannot go wrong with Malkoff. They even hold resale value fairly well.

Thanks guys,I appreciate the help and I'm sure the Malkoff is the best but is there a less expensive option? I only paid $50 for the light used. I think I would be just as well off to get a second light as pay $60 for the LED.

I use a $400 set of diamond stones to sharpen a $50 knife yesterday.

You could buy another light but it still wouldn't have a malkoff module or the performance they offer, you could also find cheaper but again you loose quality and performance. I have nothing but malkoff modules in my surefires and personally feel its one of VERY few drop-in's that meet SF quality. Milled brass body, highest grade emitters and optics, quality boards, and completely backfilled with thermal epoxy to be shock proof and help with thermal transfer. It may sound like a lot but its something you will only need to buy once.

I've been down the road of buying cheap flashlight parts and modules and believe me its not worth it. I have a gen 1 malkoff M60 that's not being used, send me a pm or email and will talk.

If it makes you feel any better I have a C2 that's got about 3x its original cost in upgrade parts into it :(

IMO when you buy Surefire or Malkoff, you're not paying for performance, a Cree XPG would cost like $5-10 when bought in bulk. You're paying for reliability and build quality. If it's just a muck around light where your life will never depend on the light then by all means go with the cheap $10-20 Dealextreme drop ins(however they don't have any super long runtime one mode drop ins).
