If I ran into The Man himself at the market which model(s) would I find cliped to his pockets?

Welcome to the forums.
This question has been asked and answered by someone more knowledgable then me before. The answer can be found by using the search engine. I think he carries a handground damascus commander he forged himself while under tutiledge of a swordmaster in Seki-City, Japan. Then again, I could be wrong.:p ;)

At the shot show this weekend he had In rear left pocket a CQC7 couldnt tell if it was a A or a B, trainer. In front right another CQC7 either A or B, I didnt ask him to pull them out, as he might forget I just wanted to look not be the test dummie :)

When you own the company you can carry anything you want :)
So I would guess that his carry knife is a constanly rotating thing.

That says a lot about Emerson knives. Ernest Emerson knows a shitload about knives and is a qualified instructer of FMA. He could carry any knife in the world... But what does he carry? An EKI knife. He knows how good an Emerson knife is. This is probably the ultimate form of "standing by your product".

The Mini Commander

Yes, the Mini is Ernie (and Mary's!) current KOC (knife of choice). He will alternate between knives as he feels the need to. He has a rotation of sorts like all of us knifenut's but, for now, the Mini Commander is it.

Does he need me to customize one for him?:D

This I can say.

He used to carry a Mach1 with Green liners all the time. But right now he is carrying a spankin Commander. Blue liners, Satin Skull clip and the G10 has a skull logo carved in it by "BobLeeSwagger". Awesome piece.

If I was in the business of selling my production knives, you are damn right I would be seen wearing them when at the shows. I bet when he goes out and about he doesen't carry a regular EKI knife, he probably carries one of his own or another makers custom.

You make it out to be like he wears them every day. IMO dont give a shoot what he carries, I think he is an ass for treating his customers the way he does (custom business). But I do know that any fool trying to promote a product, especially at a large show, wouldn't be caught carrying the competition. Now maybe the custom makers and what they carry differ from emerson, then again they dont have to promote a growing commercial level production company. Catch ernie outside of a planned meeting with him, like running into him at the store or restaurant, and I guarantee he will be wearing a custom.

Jameson,

You would be wrong. A regular, off-the-shelf, Emerson Production Knife is all that Ernest carries. Like I said, a Mini Commander is his current knife of choice.

"You make it out to be like he wears them every day. "

He does.

"IMO dont give a shoot what he carries, I think he is an ass for treating his customers the way he does (custom business)."

Do you currently have a custom on order that you are waiting on? Have you spoken with Ernest regarding your veiws? Seems like strong language to use here weather you do or do not have a knife on order.

"But I do know that any fool trying to promote a product,..."

Again, kind of strong language don't you think?

"Catch ernie outside of a planned meeting with him, like running into him at the store or restaurant, and I guarantee he will be wearing a custom."

Wrong yet again. As I said before, current Emerson Production Knives are all that he carries.

It seems that you might feel that you have some sort of axe to grind with Ernest and/or our company. If you feel that there is a situation that I might be able to assist you with, please feel free to contact me here at the shop (310)-212-7455. As long as you can refrain from the name calling and keep your cool with me, I would be happy to offer you any assistance that I am able to.

You tell 'em Derek:D

As an Aspiring Suspect, I still can't believe I talked to you this morning. BTW, you're totally right and I'm carrying the Commander I was about to send. It will now be my primary for EDC. Thanks again to all of you at EKI for putting out such a good product.

Derek, still waiting for replies from 5 e-mails I sent to you guys. All to the web address I found on your site. None of them were written with any "tone" they were asking for replacement items. Do you have a selective system of answering e-mails? Only what you want to deal with? Get back to me.

Oh, BTW. How can I speak with emerson about his views on the idea, when the man doesn't return my phone calls, or e-mails? Kinda tough isn't it? Not to mention the fact that I have heard stories, from numerous websites and have confirmed them via-email, of his basically ignoring his custom knife buyers. Those that don't attend every show he is at. Shall we put up another "Who has ever actually received an Emerson" post? I think only people with "inside" connections are ever gonna get em. Stop taking orders, and NOTIFY the people who are waiting on the status, and don't lie about it. Personally, I think the man posseses bad form, and the way he treats his customers is disappointing. My opinion.

Please don't pick apart my posts like you are grading them again. You could address each "point" you want to make in a few senteces. Or maybe even  put it all together and make a series of paragraphs. I am sure you learned that in grade school however.

Who actualy cares what he carries?

If I was EE I'd have a zero ground, damascus, bolstered, waved 8 as a righty, and a lefty, tip up 9 with a zero ground edge, damascus and bolsters.
For a fixed blade, I'd be using a textured G-10 fixed blade version of the CQC-6, again, with the zero ground edge, carried in a hand made leather sheath with magnets sewn in between the layers of leather on the flat side of the blade. Clip on the sheath for IWB carry.

And that blade would be a true bitc- cause the front of the tanto point would have 2 serations and on the longer part of edge, 3 serations up where it usualy makes contact with a target.

Of course, thoses would be backing up the Glock 30 and the 3 extra mags or 230 gr hydrashock in the de-santis kydex.

OK, OK. Fine, many people here don't like glocks, well, to those that don't, BITE ME.
Fine, I'll change "Dream loadout" to a H&K USP .45 compact, same kydex and bullet load, but I tell you, glocks have 2 more rounds per mag...

No, a custom 1911 has no place in this post. Its my "If I was emerson" carry post, so deal with it. :D

Point being Mr. Emerson's daily carry mean very little to me other than I really hope it keeps him safe when he travels in the world so he can make more knives and introduce a production waved 8.

Mr. E, keep em sharp, keep em waved, and keep em coming.

I beleive what Tamishigiri was trying to say was "What A Fu*king Waste of Time".

I concur but since I engaged, I feel the need to clarify a few points.

During the time in question, our email server was down. I could not receive or send any email from the 4th of January until the Wednesday before the SHOT Show. A reformatting of my PC used to answer email, deleted all old email so, if Jamesons email was in there, I apologize but, I can't answer what I don't have.

For the record, I received aproximately 3500 email since April 1st, 2001. I PERSONALLY responded to over 1900.

Additionally, Ernest has stopped taking orders for customs as of June of 2000. While it is true that he does not take too many individual phone calls, I do. I have spoken with numerous customers regarding their situations with custom knife orders including several members of this forum.

You are now taking a tone with me. Do not start attempting to insult me. While I can understand how you might have arrived at your opinion and frustration over the situation, there is no reason to start in on me. Up until the grade school comment, you at least had a point. It is hard for me to continue to take you seriously when you throw out weak parting shots like that one.

This (with any luck) shall be my last public post about this matter.

Parting shot was uncalled for I agree and apologize. But I really do hate it when people set up posts with the quotes like that. It seems as if you are "grading" someones post. You seem intelligent enough to be able to piece together what you want to say wihout referencing to one sentence, which doesen't clearly demonstrate the point.
