The CQC-8 would be a great all round knife since the curve would give you a good cutting angle, the only draw back I can see is the fact that if you were trying to cut something with only the tip of the blade say paper you would have to angle the knife downwards more.
The CQC-11’s spear point is a much more practical design since it would be better at stabbing and praying because you have more material around the tip as not to chip or twist the end of your blade, the handle is larger so if you have a slightly larger hand I’d go for it.
The Commander I’d say would be more of a self/ combative knife but I have a buddy who uses it everyday for almost everything and even throws the thing into drywall and wood floors just to show that he trusts his knife that much to do that.. I wouldn’t personally do that since it’s not really intended to be thrown around.
The SARK and PSARK would be a great all round utility knife as well cause of the hawk bill shape, the up would be easier time cutting boxes cause the curve of the blade goes downwards when holding the handle straight out.
The Combat Karambit and Super Karambit are good cutting blades and self defense blades but the draw back it’s not that good at stabbing straight out but if you hook the tip into something and curl forward it draws a deeper cut that just a stab. The finger hole is also great if you don’t want to drop the blade by accident and also acts as a means of intimidation by spinning the blade around and a way to give extra distance in an attack.
I would also recommend the CQC-7 and Super 7 as a good all purpose knife cause of the tanto tip which is good all round, I liked the way the Super 7 felt in my hand cause it has heft and larger surface area to grip.
Sharpening can be a hassle on the commander but just follow the steps on the Emerson site and use a diamond sharpener or a ceramic stone (I use a ceramic stone for all my knives) and it should return the edge back to a very close sharpness. Depending on how much you use the knife and what you use it for sending it back to be sharpened by the guys at Emerson might be a better way to get things to the chisel finish edge
You should look at blade tip styles for what purpose you are using the knife for, all the blade designs have ups and downs which would be way to long for me to list but my all round favorite knife that I would recommend would be a tie between the Commander and CQC- 11 because both are good all round knives to carry but look at things yourself and ask if they are really suited to what you are using them for.
