So i just picked up a Spyderco endura today from someone on craigslist for $25. It was labeled as an Endura 4, but i can't find any pics that look similar and the main thing that gets me is the little insignia on the handle says clipit on top, (spider picture in the middle), and endura on the bottom. When i look at other pictures of spyderco they all say spyderco, and endura. The steel says spyderco vg-10 on one side, and the other side says seki-city, japan

does anyone know how to take this apart as well. the previous owner was not a knife person and when i asked how he took care of it he said he rinsed it off with water and then threw it back in the glove compartment. I can see rust on the flush screws, and lock back. Plus there are some minor chips on the blade. But $25 bucks sounded like a great deal.

looks like you're right :) i didn't come across a pic of the endura 3 yet, that looks picture perfect, thanks.

now if anyone knows how to take this little one apart with the flush screws. it's been beaten up a good bit, so i'd like to take care of it as its new owner(bleeding heart i know)

i've never dealt with any kind of rust issues, as long as i maintain it by cleaning and lubing, will the rust not advance, or will it slowly eat away? I tried looking up some things, but it's all about prevention, and didn't stumble across anything about existing problems. And since i won't be able to take it apart, there's no way for me to scrub any of it off except the top surface

Yes, the rust will slowly advance, eventually eating its way clear though the metal pins. It will probably take a hundred years or so if you don't put a drop of oil in there every month or so. If it was out here where I live, it would take about three hundred years, but you're closer to water.

I would blast it with breakfree clp, wipe it down and enjoy your pre broken in new knife.Good deal.
