for my tuxedo edc2 w...a makers interpretation of the best suited inlay

and without that silver pin thing at the end of the retention strap

That is kind of a high riding oddball design. The retention strap kind of looks like it was put on as an afterthought. Not something I would want to build personally, not really sure who to recommend for that one.

well im not dead set on the design...i just want something that is kinda sleek & doesnt cover 80% of the handle

edit...

that "style" not necessarily that sheath

Pretty sure thats a mikey moto sheath pinlock design. Not too sure that would work on a ff because it locks up in the talon hole. His designs are a lot more raffined now days.
Rick Lowe made a pocket sheath for my wife with a window in it to showcase the handle.
I can add a quick pic tomorrow if you like.

+1 Rick Lowe; he did a few Sneaky Pete sheathes for me in both horizontal and vertical carry; workmanship was top notch and Rick is an awesome gent to work with.

I'd really like to see that!

Rick might have saved a picture of it. It was for a pink ladyfinger. I have no chance untill tomorrow to post a picture

Thats the one. Thank you I forgot about that pic as the missus took it.
Anyway. The sheath has a clip on the back as my wife dont really carry knives.
Gives her the option of tucking it in a pocket waistbelt or anywhere else.
If i had a bushboot Id be looking at a similar setup for front pocket carry.

updated my OP
so you can see the loop on the backside of the handle that was previously hidden

I too am interested in sheath options for the Hiking Buddy I just purchased. Is there a list somewhere around here of "preferred" sheath makers ... ones that are commonly used by the Fiddleback folk?

I too want something pretty slim, semi-high riding (not a drop or dangler style ... unless it's a dangler option), and which doesn't cover most of the handle. Heck, I'm honestly more of a kydex guy so I wouldn't be opposed to a kydex or kydex/leather hybrid. No fire steel loop.

Any assistance would be appreciated. I hope this doesn't de-rail the OP's thread. If so, mods are free to split it off.

Links to websites or Facebook pages would be appreciated.

I am lucky enough to work with Rick Lowe and Heber Ellsworth for my sheaths. The make beautiful sheaths that really compliment my work. I appreciate your support for them as well.

heber goes by wildmanh here
rick lowe goes by rick lowe

& talfuchre has a sheath making thread near the top here

Gents, I have a Hiking buddy in the shop this week for custom fitting and I also do Pancake style sheaths. Here are some old pictures of two of my Pancake style sheaths: http://hjeleather.kydance.net/pancake.html Those two are low ride sheaths, I can also do mid and high ride sheaths. Email or PM if interested.

BTW I'm almost out of that color. Should still have enough for one Hiking buddy sized knife. Just FYI.

Heber
