hello im trying to decide which fillet knife to get as i am going on a fishing trip next week, the ka bar 6" fillet knife of the buck clearwater 6" in 12c27? thank you

Mora makes a nice fillet knife that is reasonably priced . It may be worth a look as well.

Mora's looks to be a winner IMHO, I'd love to have the variation with the scandinavian grind. 12C27 Sandvik is no slouch, and a solid performer.

Just my 2 cents but I would go with the Buck - Sandvik 12C27 is a very decent steel and takes a killer edge.

I like the high-carbon 6" Dexter-Russell (sani-safe handle). Boring, proven, made in the U.S.

My Frost/Mora fillet knife came dull and I've never been able to get it to take or keep a good edge. I have other Moras and they sharpen up as well as everyone says. Maybe my fillet knife got a bad heat treat? I'd be interested to know if others here have better experiences with the Moras.

For like $30 Victorinox Forschner Flexible Blade Fillet Knife, really hard to beat...unless I have a large or tough scaled fish ie red drum, this is my go to knife...Amazing flex and takes a wicked edge fast....BTW the dexter russel already mentioned is really good also--- I, of course, have and use them also
