I live in Florida. While I don't live exactly by the coast it's still a lot more humid here than in other places in America. Now I was wondering, which is type of finish on a blade is a lot more preferable when living in such a climate: Tumbled, Beadblasted, or Sandblasted? Thanks for any help.

Actually you want a polished surface, the smoother the better because this makes it harder for moisture to attach to the metal.

The more you texture the surface of a metal, the more surface area you create for moisture to hold onto and attack.

That's so true.
But "Radioactive",
Tumbled would probably give the best "dull/low glare surface finish" from the choice of your preffered three given finishes.

How about mirror polished with a titanium finish? I don't normaly like coated blades except for Kershaw's DLC. That is some tough stuff. I like a very fine satin finish or a mirror polish on most knives though.

The tumbled finish would be the best for the options you listed. The tumbled finish will have an appearance something like galvanized metal and should be very smooth to the touch. Not only is it good for resisting moisture, but it also will not show marks as much as the others will.

I agree, mirror polished is the way to go.

Or you could get a Spyderco with H1 steel and never worry about rust again. :D

Humid location and if you carry you knife in your pants pocket how much do you sweat? Mirror polished blade, maybe. Any steel will pick up a little bit of rust if you don't keep your blade clean. So pick the finish you like best and keep the blade clean and wipe it down every so often with mineral oil if you are using it for food prep mainly, if not just about any good fireamrs lube will do.It's that simple even if it is a good carbon steel.
