Welcome. Any answer would be meaningless not knowing what you typically do with your knife while you are walking and hiking in the woods.

I know I'm not going to be popular, but I really like the Schf42 from Schrade, It's 1095 high carbon steel, the handle is very comfortable and the fit and finish on this one is really nice. The leather sheath is of good quality. It's a good stout knife but not too heavy, perfect for walking around in the woods.

It's also designed by Bladeforums very own Mistwalker. I'm sticking with my Becker recommendation, but the SCHF42 is a rock solid knife.

Nah... if you like Ka-Bar then look at the 1226, 1232 or the 1236.

Google 'em up and pick the size you like.

Esee 4, Tops BOB, Becker Bk15,16,17. Lots of good choices. Depends on your budget really.

The Becker "Tweeners" which are in between the big ones and the little ones - specifically, the BK-15, 16 and 17.

You already know the steel, already know the grip and already know the company. The 16 is sweet (get it?) but the 15 is my all around favorite.

BK15 would be outstanding as a hiking/camp knife and, at ~$40, can't be beat!
