Which Flavor of Damascus for Sebenza?

What flavor of Damascus do you guys think I should get on my next small Sebenza?

I tend to like Raindrop, but saw a couple knives I like in ladder and basketweave. Think I should hold out for the Raindrop? Its a particularly nice basketweave.
 
Grab the basket IMO. I don't know why, but I'd go ladder on one that I'd use and basket on a collector piece.
 
I used to dislike ladder, but have grown to like it. I do not care for the new raindrop as I like the older version better. Basketweave has always been nice. Basketweave used to be on limited runs only as I had a basketweave mnandi many years ago. ( miss that one ). So it's possible it will not be around as long as the others have. I would go basketweave, ladder, raindrop.....!!!
 
I started out loving rain drop and then slowly have started to like ladder as long as the pattern looks good. The older patterns do look better IMO
 
I think it also depends on what inlay you are getting, the raindrop and box elder is a sick combo, the ladder and snake wood is hot, the basket weave looks gorgeous with CF... Oh my please do not do this to me, I really can't go any further into this crazy addiction.

Yes. I have an older (2007) ladder that is beautiful, and while I have a 2013 raindrop, it doesn't have those stars and that 'pop' that the older ones do.
 
Ladder Damascus for me.

It is a special knife for sure.
The damascus on the knife in LW's signature is called river of fire. It is pretty amazing stuff if you ask me.
 
I wouldn't hold your breath looking for a River of fire.

IMO pick the example of whatever pattern you are drawn to. I would rather have a nice ladder than a bad raindrop though it is my favorite.
 
They are all great! If you can't make up your mind, do what I do . . . flip a coin!!!! Let fate take you where it likes! Maybe eliminate any you know you don't want!
