Okay soo I have a RAT model 1, Kershaw Volt II, and a CRKT Drifter. I was wondering what i should get this time. I want to try out a spyderco and i'm debating between a Para, a Military, or an Endura 4. Or should i get a different one? I'd rather not spend over $120-$130ish.

can't really go wrong with any spyderco imo. the para is going to be smaller than the endura and mili, and the para and the mili both have better blade steel than the endura, as well as being more expansive. i would suggest starting with the endura (or delica if you would prefer a smaller sized knife) and see if you like the spydie hole etc, then you can always move up to the para/mili.

All three are fantastic knives, but I second the above suggestion to get an Endura as your first Spyderco. It's a fantastic knife (as are the Millie and Para, of course).

There are some great knife shops up there in MD so go and pickup each one and get the one you like the best.

I like the Military and Para 2 the best, the Endura is a great Value and the Endura 4 in ZDP-189 is excellent.

There are a lot of Knife shops? I only know edgeworks as a good knife store. The rest of them i see are crappy cheap chinese knives haha. Hmm yea i might get an Endura 4.

Knifecenter is up there too.

There used to be a lot of them when I lived up there about 15 years ago.

It makes sense for the OP to mention wanting a Spyderco in a thread like this, as every model will be suggested anyway :p

I've got an Endura 4 FFG in my pocket right now, and it's a great knife. Didn't break the bank at all; I think I only paid something like $60 or so for it. The G10 handles on the Military are nice, and it's a stronger knife overall but the Endura is the one that I take camping and hiking. It doesn't weigh anything and is plenty tough.

I'm a little surprised that the Spyderco Gayle Bradley hasn't been mentioned. So I will suggest it.:)

How about a Spyderco Pacific Salt or a Manix 2. Out of the three you have listed I would take the Millie! Good Luck! Kevin :D

That would be my rec if you want a spyderco. If not not married to a spyderco, my choice was the ZT 0551. The esee hest folder looks pretty sweet too.

You could get a well established and proven knife like the Benchmade 710 or 943, or Spyderco Military. The Zero Tolerance line is also very nice.

But the knife that I'd recommend the most would be the Spyderco Gayle Bradley. It's just built and finished so much better than other knives, both in its price range and well out of its price range. The carbon fiber handles are really a beauty, and they have a good grip as well. It's a super durable knife, but looks nice as the same time (the liners are polished on the edge). The opening is fast and smooth, and the clip is a step up over cheap painted black ones. The best part about it, though, is the blade. It's a high hollow grind that's really thin behind the edge, so it slices like no other. The CPM-M4 steel will hold an edge better than pretty much anything out there. Plus, unlike competitors like ZDP-189, it's tough, so it won't chip or damage easily. I think it's the best value in its price range, by far.
