Which grind and why?

Hello,
Long time reader (lurker) with a question.
For your EDC, woods bumming, and working knives, with steel and heat treat being equal, do you have a preferred grind (convex, flat, high hollow, saber, scandi, etc)? Which takes a better edge? Holds an edge longer? Easier for you to sharpen (in the field or at home)?

Most of my experience is with hollow or flat grinds and I'm wondering if my next knife from John should be something different. I have a couple of EWOKs for EDC on order and I'm thinking about a Hiker, Scout Jr, or Tank for the woods.

Thanks for your input,

I do most of my knives in a kind of combination of flat and convex. I am doing a special version of my anniversary knife with a longer and thicker blade in a full convex right now,

For wood working nothing beats a Scandi grind but they can be easily damaged. In my opinion the perfect compromise for performance and edge durability is a full convex !!!

hmm...you think maybe I should get mine in a full convex as well since it is 3/16? Haven't had a full convex knife yet.

My JK is 3/16" thick and John did a beautiful job grinding it.
