Which Hawk?

Hey all, so my name is Matt and I'm a hawk-a-holic... :D

So I have a CS trail hawk (which I LOVE), but I'd like something that hits heavier. I'm Dutch (read CHEAP!!!) so I'll stick with cold steel, and I'm hung up between the pipe hawk and the rifleman's hawk. The pipe hawk is much nicer looking, but lighter, whereas the rifleman's looks unrefined but the weight seems to lend itself to possibly better chopping. Which should I get (please don't say both, I thought I'd be done with the trail hawk )? Thanks all!

If that were my choice I'd pick the pipe hawk but if the spike hawk was a choice I'd go for the spike. It'd heavier and realy fun to throw both ways. The rifleman is my least favourite of all the CS hawks.

Best regards

Robin

Thanks Pipeman, the spike isn't something I'm interested in, I like the hammering option. Also, I didn't mention that I won't be throwing my hawk (ever), it's more of a lighter wood processing tool. I agree with you though, that rifleman looks like a real dog. :( Thanks for the response!

I'd say go for the pipehawk too, the lines are much more pleasing to the eye, and owning one i can say they balance is fair. You can also use the "bowl" end as a hammer should you wish

is there any advantage to owning the rifleman? does anyone own it and love it?
