This is a WWII kuk brought back from CBI.

This Kukri measures 16-1/2" long and 2" at the widest place on the blade. The backbone of the blade is 1/4" thick. The tang goes through the butt cap on the handle. I suspect the handle is water buffalo horn. It is still sturdy and ready for use. There is no rust, it could be cleaned up. Sheath has deteriorated, though.

I'd like to buy a new replacement for it and leave this one retired.

Which HI kuk is like it so I can have a modern user?

The closest HI khuk would be a 20" Junge because of blade shape, a 17" M43 like Seth said, or an 18" Samsher. HI just sold a couple of chiruwa samshers by Sgt. Khadka here in the last few weeks that were 18" and about 29 oz. that would have been perfect.

Here is the one I got on the 1/20 DOTD (29 oz.):

There was another one on 2/1 (26 oz.):

Just wanted to pipe in and say she's a beauty.

I haven't pulled the trigger on any antiques yet. The HIKV is still too strong to allow other spending.

Hi Guys:

I think they do look very close. I'll have to keep a closer eye on the DOD's.

Nice buys, Sarge.

Almost reminds me of a hanshee, kinda like the one offered from DOTd 2/22 but with a full tang and a horn handle.
