......I want to buy a knife form Emerson ........And I do not know how to choose????? which one is better?????mini commander or CQC-7????I just want to a new EDC knife??????

everybody????could you please give me some advise???.....Because it is my first time to buy the Emerson knife.....THANK YOU VERY MUCH.....:)

So far my collection only includes a CQC7, Commander, CQC 13 and a mini CQC-15. For me, the mini-15 has bumped all of the others out of rotation. I love the size, the ergonomics of the handle and the shape of the blade.

I own several CQC-7's, and while they have their place, I don't like them much. The Commanders are much better all-around, for me. I like the CQC-15, and have carried that a bit more of late, but the Commanders have been outstanding knives. They're my favorite of the lot.

I like some of the other blade profiles, too; the bowie style CQC-13 or CQC-16 are nice, but I've had more use and more applications for the Commanders and mini-commanders than all the others.

The CQC-7 one-sided chisel arrangement works for defensive (or offensive, to some degree) applications, but has always struck me as just a little too primative.

I just got a Krien regrind back on a Commander which to me represents the profile I'd like to have seen from the beginning.

The CQC-7 is the most well-known Emerson, perhaps, but it can be tricky to get used to. If you're new to the Emerson game, I think the mini-Commander would be better to start with.
Either way, you can't go wrong, so in the end.... just pick whichever one you think tickles your fancy more, buy it, carry it, use it, and love it.

I own a 7 and an 8. I started with an 8, and I will soon have another one on its way.

As the owner of a Mini-Commander, Mini CQC-7 and Mini CQC-15, there is nothing to discuss here. :D The post above is right. Forget the MC and the 7 and go straight to the 15.

Agreed. Truly the best of both worlds with the "tanto-com" blade and amazing handle ergos. Just got my Mini 15 in today and it ROCKS!!!
