which is better?

Is this a trick question, the business ethics and practices of Rat Cutlery are second to none:thumbup:

It's pretty obvious that you're going to get "RAT Cutlery is better" as an answer when you ask a question like that in a forum dedicated to the company...

I haven't had any experience with Ontario knives so I can't compare the two, but from what I've heard Ontario has quite a few hickups in their products.

yeah man RC all the way. they can respond to customer input and their warranty is out of this world

Was this necessary? We usually don't compare companies here, at least not purposefully.

RAT Cutlery without a doubt. I have owned both and my Ontario rats have all been sold off, only my RAT Cutlery blades remain.

I've owned both. I think that the Ontario Rat knives are good knives. They were designed by the guys who now own and operate RAT Cutlery. Where RAT Cutlery is so much better is in the quality control, more consistant and better heat treat of the blade, better attention to detail, the no questions asked warranty, and their customer service. You're not going to find the owners of Ontario Knife Co. on a forum like this participating with us regular dummies. The RAT Cutlery guys make themselves available to the customers all the time. In fact, a lot of us have their cell phone numbers because they post them here every once in a while to make sure that people can get in contact with them without having to go through any hullibaloo. RAT Cutlery also believes more in having a community to learn from and the training aspect of being a knife and outdoors enthusiast. They're not just making knives to try to get the most customers and the most money possible. They do cost a little bit more, but you get a lot more for your money than just a good knife.

Well damn. Someone just copy my response on a clipboard for every time a newb asks this question. lol
