I've heard so many opinions. Which is a better lube CLP type oils or a drier one like Tuf-Glide for knives.I've even heard no oil at all is needed.Inquiring minds want to know.

What is it that you want to do? Make the pivot smoother? Protect the steel against corrosion?

Personally, I use lithium grease for the pivots, and Marine Tuf-cloth for protecting all the blades. I live in a hot, steamy jungle environment and rust is a real problem for metals. I wipe my EDC down with a Marine Tuf-cloth about once a week, and never have to deal with the red stuff. I often use this knife for cutting foods when trekking, and so far, whatever is deposited on the steel by the cloth hasn't killed me.

I was thinking of their lubrication properties.there seems to be diverse opinions all the way up to no lube at all.I only say this because when my son was younger we would lube his roller blades with a wet lube and his bearings would actually last longer with no lube at all.
