"Which is RARER?" Apples or oranges?

I'd like to pose this question to you all regarding the odd couple of knives in this photo... Which is rarer? (and why?):

1. The Kershaw Volt is a bit of a tough knife to find as Kershaw only made 209 unblemished examples. It is a unique knife, in that the design has not had other lives in other variations. (except the Volt II which doesn't even seem that close)

2. This William Henry special edition Spearpoint is lower in numbers... it is #01 of 25 made. The "Spearpoint" model, however, has been used for several years in many variations.

For this experiment, let's exclude price difference or function as having anything to do with it.

Which is rarer and why?

Soon after the Volt came out there seemed to be a lot of people re-selling them because of the clip. The Volt shouldn't be too hard to find.

Don't know much about the William Henry.

The WH is probably harder to find, but the Volt might be easier to sell.

WH knives are considered to be more collectible and 'investments' because of their low numbers and true handmade quality. That's why you rarely see them for sale. Seriously, would you ever carry that knife as an EDC??? It would probably function quite well, but would you ever take the chance of finding out and lowering its value? Personally, I'd rather have the VOLT, as I can never see myself buying a blade I wouldn't use.

The hardest production knife to find for sale would be the Kershaw Blur 1670S60V.
Only 15 were made and I have two of them. :)
Other than the one that was auctioned on Ebay for charity I've never seen one for sale.

There were blems of course but they are marked as such.

yup, i would carry both. i'm crazy that way. have the fun is using them

If ya' have the cash to throw around, be my guest!;)

it's less about cash than enjoying something for it's intended use. I am used to being very careful with any knife I carry. If I need a hard duty knife, then I opt for something that can be easily replaced. The WH, for instance is virtually indestructible for light use. The blade is tungsten dlc coated zdp189. That and it rides in a leather pocket clip sheath. I'd have to really make an effort to damage this knife.

Regardless of price range, try to enjoy a knife you spend hard earned dollars for. Collect and stash the rest, but just try using 1 really nice knife. They don't have to cost a mint.

I remember seeing one for sale on the exchange about 3 months ago. I ALMOST bought it. Not sure why I passed, it was a blem for a decent price too.

I've used what I consider really nice knives; higher end Kershaw, Benchmade, and Spyderco. But A WH is a different animal in my opinion. They are borderline art knives in my personal opinion. I would put them in the same category as Gold Class Benchmade knives, if not a notch higher 90% of the time.

Clip is a personal preference. Functionally for me it rides very nice and is very discreet (very low ride). Design?? I don't mind it... I saw someone ground it down with rounded curves and that ruined it for me. I prefer it just the way it is and I appreciated that Kershaw chose titanium.

Compare that to the JYD titanium SG2 where they chose to make it steel just like the basic version.... and the whole hideously oversized design aspect of it??? Does the design match the knife? maybe. but functionally you might as well duct tape the knife to the outside of your pants for discreet carry.
