Which is the best $6,000.00 folder?

Mate, while I know such a critter might exist where
did you see a knife this
expensive??

That would be the solid gold, diamond encrusted Spyderco Police model.:D.

I don't think you are going to find very many members here that will be able to give you first hand recommendations on $6000.00 folders. I have never owned one, but if I was to have a spare $6000.00 burning a hole in my pocket, I would invest in a Ron Lake interframe folder. I love the way they look and they will never go down in value. I would also look at the knives of Michael Walker. For a little less money I would check out the knives of Ron Newton and Shane Taylor.

Here it is ... I have one for sale. :D

$6,000 folder ? Try Delana, her works are gorgeous. Having worked as a jeweler, she has great eyes for valuable materials (gold, diamond, ruby, etc.) and great precision for detailed work. Excellent craftmanship. If I'm blessed with lotsa money, I'll definitely go for her works.

If you wanna give me $6000 I'll be happy to learn how to make folders and sell you one. :)

dellana
van barnett
tim herman
michael walker
steve scharzer

you would be hard pressed to go wrong with any of the above. and there are of course a lot of japanese makers making 6000 dollar knives, but i cannot pronounce their names, let alone spell them.

There you go. I've met her and seen her products at a couple of the NYC area shows. I don't mind dropping some bucks on fine knives, but she's a bit out of my price range. Beautiful stuff, though.

Joe Kious; I've seen some of his stuff and it's world class. Delanna (Sp?) is over the top, but impressive as all get out as well. That Van Barnett guy does some awesome work, I got to see it up close and personal last year at either Blade West, or more likely, the Solvang show which is coming up again at the and of April (Yippee!).
I don't think they do folders, but if you have that kind of a knife budget, I think you'd have to get something from Buster and Julie Warenski for the collection.

Edited to add: John W Smith's art knives. I don't know if they're 6K yet, but the workmanship is fantastic.

This has GOT to be an April Fool's joke!

Oh no. There are plenty of great examples of folders in the $6000 range. $20,000 isn't that hard to come by.

Oh yea, his stuff is great! I got to hang out with him for a couple days at the ABS West Coast Clinic and he showed me his entire portfolio! It was amazing!
