I still virgin on RAT, but soon I wil have mines, by the moment, I am thinking on which is the best multitool I can carry on the RC 5 pouch, for me the multitool is a very versatil and usefull partner for any of my knives when I'm on any trip, You profesionals and experts, what you think, which one will you put in the pocket of the sheath to be the companion of the "Great Green", (I wish an all green RC 5 too). Let us know please.

P.D. Thanks for this great Virtual Family I enjoy a lot read the Rat Forum.:D

dude i have not got my RC-5 yet and dont know how big the pocket it or how heavy this would be, but i have a leatherman charge alx and freakin love it.

You'll fit just about any multitool in the pouch, it's beefy.

"The great green", I like that.:)
I'm sure that any multi-tool you like will fit in the RC-5 pouch with room for a fire tool as well.
My favorite Multi-tools are the Gerber 400 Compact Sport and the 600 Pro Scout. The 400 is nice in a gear pouch because it doesn't add much bulk or weight.

I carried a Gerber 600 for years. I switched to leatherman and seem to get a little more life out of them, but they also cost more so it's six of one, half a dozen of the other.

I've been tempted by the wave but I like the Gerber's features, especially the way you can snap them open with one hand.

I've had good luck with the Gerber 600 both at the farm and at work, being able to snap it open for the pliers fast is real handy when you have your hands full.

I am going to try the SOG powerplier that I already have. I would like to go to a different tool but can't find any with a comparable file.

I liked the snap out feature too. But I didnt like the nose of the pliers sticking out while the pliers were retracted. Made using any tool on it a pain in the a$$. Well, technically a pain in the hand.

I'd go with a Gerber 600 ProScout.
Been my MT of choice for 8 years with no problems.

Don't know if this is mostly going to be a woods knife for you.
If it is, you may be better off putting a RAT fire kit and a SAK next to it in the pouch.
I like the Rucksack and Outrider

Of course, if this is an all-around E&E knife, the multitool would be the better choice.

I like the SOG PowerAssist better than any multi-tool I've owned.
