I want to get a spyderco which is not too big but with serrations to do all kinds of rough cutting. Any suggestions ?

How about a Dyad? That way, you'd have BOTH a plain-edge blade, AND a fully serrated-edge blade in the SAME folder.:).

I have a Dyad Jr., and that little dude ROCKS!!..

Hello,

try the Rescue Junior you wont regret it.

One of the most confortable handle ever made for a folder.

cheers,

JM

How about a serrated Native? It is not too large and is great for rough jobs.

Was going to suggest that both the Delica and Endura Spyderedge knives have probably outsold almost all other models combined.

But, Aries 59 is probably right about the Native. Guess since mine is plain edge, I simply don't think of it as having serrations. The knife is quite versatile size-wise. It is stoutly built. In the FRN model, you are getting one of the best edge retention steels out there. Would guess that sharpening a serrated Native FRN, would probably be a farely rare occasion.

"Course, once the Delica and Endura have VG-10, they'll probably better fit that same description.

HARPY ]

My companion in the yard and garden. The G10 version is sturdy and grippy. Very handy for harvesting or pruning small limbs or severing a hose or plastic pipe.

Another vote for the Harpy. If you can, get the G-10 model. If not, I'd go for the FRN handle Merlin or a "roughed" stainless scale Harpy.
