Which state has the most liberal laws and rules when it comes to carrying knives and importing them?

Actually Vermont, Arizona and Utah can probably claim that. These states pretty much allow any knife of any size to be carried, even switchblades, and only criminalize behavior with said knife. I cannot pick a top one though, as each state has slight variations on how the law works. Vermont and Arizona have the proud distinction that handgun carry is also legal with no permit in those states.

Texas's knife and gun law actually are not very friendly by comparison.

Yes NH is the best on the East coast and Florida is fairly good also. AZ has the West coast as best. Vermont is good too but I think they have a few restrictions....

Something makes me want to say Texas but I may be wrong.

nope not texas. you can't carry an auto knife at all. arizona is maybe the most free in the south west. florida i believe in the southeast. although the south east is pretty equal, so one of the other southern states are likely close or the same or slightly better.

i know floriduh laws, cause i live there.......florida is okay. all knives are legal to own and carry unconcealed and openly except ballistic knives. with a ccw, which in florida is a weapons carrying concealed permit, including all knives except the ballistic, you can conceal carry any knife. that doesn't apply to city and county ordinances, though only state law. unfortunately they didn't include all the weapons when they passed the one set of laws for firearms across the entire state. big mistake.

new hampshire i believe is the most free state in the country across all spectrums, including knives. while every law might not be the most absolute free, when you roll all the freedoms you get as a citizen in new hampshire, you live the most unregulated and free as possible in the usa. every other state should strive to be like new hampshire, imho. it's one nice free place to live. its the only northern state i'd ever live in. mostly due to the cold...i like the wet heat, but if i have to deal with cold i'm going where the state respects it's citizens, not takes their rights away like maryland or mass.

Probably Idaho, probably the Midwestern states, etc. I remember reading somewhere though that in Idaho automatics and maybe even balisongs  are legal for civilian carry as long as you aren't intoxicated.
