Which is the right BM Mini-Grip for me?

I'm looking for an EDC that doubles as a camping/fishing knife. So far, the BM mini Griptilian with plain edge and black coating sounds like a good choice. However, I'm having trouble deciding between the older 440C, the newer 154CM, cabela's D2 and Ritter Grip S30V. Of these four, which one offers the most corrosion resistance? Which one is more practical and suited for my needs? Do the coatings (BT2, BK) offer extra corrosion resistance?

Also, does the stock mini grip (old and new models) come with black, plain edge blade with black handle? The closest I could find was the 556BTOD and that's only available in 440C. On the other hand, there's no shortage of black coated mini grips with combo-edge.

Thank you for your help,

From my current understanding, 440C will probably have the best corrosion resistence. A coated one should probably be even better, though some people talk about a fear that rust could develop underneath the coating allowing the rust to spread without the users knowledge of it. I would love to see an axis lock on an H1 blade.

Coated plain edged Mini-Grips can be difficult to find.

I've yet to have a coated BM rust, but then I've yet to have any BM rust beyond spotting (nothing to worry about, in my book).

I like the Ritter version, but that is an expensive choice (but, they are on a lowered price schedule at the moment - plug, plug:). That blade shape just transforms the knife for me.

Not too hip on anyone's 440 steel anymore, so no recomendation their. But, it would probably be the most rust resistant.

Are you taking it swimming in the ocean or for long periods of time at sea?

If not, I'd recommend the non-coated mini Rittergrip, but they do come coated. It is my EDC and I love it. They are on a very rare sale right now ... just enter "FALLBLOWOUT" in the coupon code. Non-coated mini - $90; coated mini - $105. Go to http://www.aeromedix.com.
