Which is the smallest/lightest Queen with D2?

Greetings all,

I currently have a Queen Cocobola Congress and I dearly love the sharpness and edge holding of the D2 blades. I plan on getting a couple of the bigger Queens (a Mountain Man and a Cattle King), but I am trying to figure out which of the other models is the smallest and lightest. I carry too much stuff in pockets some days (big 'tactical' knife, two sets of keys, flashlights, wallet, badge case, .38 snubbie, ammo, USB key drive) and find it very convenient just to drop a very small folder in my shirt pocket.

I was thinking about a Jigged Black Cherry Serpentine Jack looks like it would be about the smallest and lightest folder that Queen makes with D2 blades. Any experience, thoughts, or comments?

Thanks,
Danny

These two are little smaller and lighter than the Serpentine Jack which is 3 1/4 inches closed.

Peanut...2 3/4 closed

Gentlemans Knife...2 5/8 closed

Bill Horn has some at http://www.cumberlandknifeworks.com look under "Black Cherry-Smooth" Delrin scales.

Just so you know, though, these small patterns are not D2, they are 420. Probably your best bets would be the #26 stockman or its two blade jack equivalent, or the #11 slim trapper.

I'll be darned, as usual, Knifeaholic is right, Bill Horn has them listed as "D2", but Queen's website does say the two models I pointed out are 420HC.

Sorry for the confusion, but now I'm curious why these two models are not D2 also??????

I'll second the #26 stockman. It is very light and compact for the amount of blade edge in it.

Thanks for the suggestions. A Peanut with D2 blades would be perfect, but I just can't get excited about 420HC.

I'll take at look at the #26.

My 26 Stockman is D2 right? It has TOOL STEEL stamped on the clip blade.

Look at the main blade tang, if it has "PH-D2", then it's D2 for sure.

I'll look again tonight, but neither my Mountain Man or stockman have D2 anywhere on the blades.

Look VERY closely at the tang stamping...you should see a Q with a crown and under that PH-D2. The PH i think stands for Peters Heat Treating, the company that does the heat treatment for Queen.

I just checked all of mine, and they all have "PH-D2" under the "Titusville, Pa."

But the Mountain Man is very hard to see, it's there but almost covered by the bolster.
