I have the 4062 which is the drop point with the thumb stud. I like it but I was wondering what people thought of the clip blade and the thumb hole versions. I may get another in a different style.

"The new Byrds out do the Doziers I have discovered."

Don't tell me that! Now I'm going to go out and buy some of those! I was supposed to be done buying knives for a while until I could test all the new ones I have been getting. I am such a sucker for good cheap knives. I love a deal!

The Byrd 440C steel holds an edge longer than the AUS8 Dozier steel. The Doziers are good knives but the Byrds have stainless steel handles and better blade steel.
Check them out.
Byrds
I have the Dozier with the thumb hole. The opening hole is hard to reach but doable.
Here is a fine little knife with a lifetime warrranty.
Craftsman.

I prefer the Ka-Bar Dozier designed D2 Thorn. I have two of them. One black and one silver. Aside from the fact that it can easily be made into a double edge if one wanted to and the fact that it is one of few that could still be carried safely in the pocket because the blade totally conceals when closed I like the blade shape. Take away the dagger look and forget about the false edge and the blade is simply an extra large pen blade that is very useful for many tasks.

I have customized my silver one by taking off the top wing on the blade and re-enforcing the lock with a physical stop behind the Dozier tab stop because it started wanting to slide too far across the blade tang and actually leave the blade when opened and I noticed after carrying it for about a while that the lock was giving/bending some under cutting pressures. Once I did that physical stop behind the tab it fixed the problem and the knife has been one of my favorite carry knives over the last couple of years because it cuts so well.

I like the one with the hole. I'm not a big fan of thumb studs, unless they are way back, like in the CRKT M-16 models.

I haven't ordered one yet, but I'm going to get one of them and a BM 550 as soon as I finish paying for a couple of trips I'm taking in a few weeks. On the other hand, I could just buy them while on vacation and consider them "souvenirs".

The model with the hole, the Thumb Notch model is my favorite. I prefer a hole opener. And a slightly tapered clip blade for finer tasks.

I have both the thumbhole (4065) and thumbstud one (4062) with the thumbstud switched. Prefer the thumbhole for most things. Both are good bargains, though :D

Thumbstud clip point by a thin margin over the drop point, I own both.

An amazing knife for the money!
