I never paid much attention to the sheath snaps until last week when I gave a Patang to a friend. His wife looked at it and said "Oh, Oklahoma".:confused:
He and I were admiring the massive amount of steel in the blade, the grain of the handle, the sharp edge, thinking of its use in different situations and the first thing she checks out is . . . .the snap.:rolleyes:
So is Sher really from Stillwater?

Edited to add that I see this was addressed by Dan back in March when Dick Singer asked this.

LOL!!! i noticed that aswell... im sure they are purchased from the states and sent over there :)

My money is on a big case of snaps bought from India, all by sheaths with snaps (both that is) have the same one.

I prefer to think of them as being in honor of Yvsa.

Buttons like this are made in China. {possibly India & taiwan to?}

The Chinese are even exporting kukri know {never mind buttons.}, both modern Nepali style, that look good & tourist style coverd in coins etc. They even are for sale in Nepal.

Some fools pay $20 each for these buttons on ebay!

You can probably buy a couple of thousand for that.

Noticed it as well... Figured that it was the result of a great bulk purchase.
