It should be a 6 pointed star..... Pre UB....my best guess without pictures would be Kami Kumar. If you post a pic we can figure it out. Or you can check the kami mark threads posted in the Link Library at the top of the main forum page.

definitely 5 points(one ray is broken off),carved handle,15 inch a.k.,white metal fittings,with k.r. above star.maybe a one of a kind?

please, they're all one of a kind if that is what you look at since they are all hand inscribed.
I have all manner of "mistakes" on the kami marks but they are still clear as to who they are...

apparently. I have pre-UB Kumar pieces as well, do you have a camera? I'd love to add this one to the Kami Key I am compiling...

I am not sure what you are really asking I guess... are you asking if this is so rare that it is worth more because Kumar didn't mark it the way he does all the time? I would say not but if you can get it I would applaud you for it for certain. :) I am merely saying they make the marks by hand and so there are always some sorts of mis-marks and little differences in each mark. So each one is "One of a Kind" by this definition.

The K r in latin lettering would make it a kumar. Maybe he was having a bad day and forgot a point on his star.

sorry, one of a kind was a sarcasm not to be taken seriously.dont know how he stamps his star so would accept that.thanks

I think its gotta be Kumar. But I dare not claim any expertise...
Kumar made some wonderful stuff

the small kuk is the one in question. this was the only pic i had before i sold it on. hope it helps

Well, unfortunately I can't see the star and can barely make out the initials...
It looks like a nice Kumar handle though, his carving is among the best of the best IMO.

I wish you could post a picture of the Kami Marking for us, if you had a camera, just put it in the afternoon shade, use the "Macro" setting, and try to take as clear a shot of the mark as you can. As for sarcasm, it is unlikely to work well until folks get to know you.. It doesn't really come across in plain text without the inflection and the look.
