I'm looking to get another Karambit. I have a Spyderco which is for my collection not use. I have a Boker Plus Karambit which is a super high value knife at $25, it's a sturdy framelock, 440c steel is fine. I'm wanting to get one w/more curve on the blade. It's down to Emerson Combat 154cm ($209), or 511 Cubmaster s30v($90). Any experience w/these 2 knives? Anyone handled either one of these, are they solid, strong lockup, a fixed blade won't work for me, need a folder. Thoughts and opinions welcome.

Howesknifeshop (A BFC Sponsor and impeccable dealer) has the Emerson Karambit w/ black blade for $187.00 with free shipping which is a stupid good deal for this knife.

Also may add the Fox Karambit folder to your list, it has a licensed Emerson wave shaped opener and N690CO steel for a little around $120.

Oh yeah, guess I should add my opinion. Either the Emerson or the Fox are tops for me, with the Emerson winning by a good bit (especially at that price). The 5.11 isn't a bad knife, but I really hate the way the handle looks. Plus, a wave shaped opener on a karambit=win. But, if price dictates you get the 5.11, rest assured the 3 or 4 I have handled were very well built, solid knives.

My sisters bf has the aluminum handled Fox, I'm not much of a Karambit fan but I will say it seems to be pretty well built and came sharp

Thanks for the thread- finished a Tom Clancy novel the other week were a karambit had a role...gave me a little itch for one! The cubmaster looks promising to me...

Hey thanks buddy! I just ordered an Emerson Karambit from Howes. I was debating over the blade finish but for $30 off price that debate was short. Free shipping too so it is a good deal that I had not seen yet. Can't wait to get that bad boy.

Have you considered one from the Philippines? Kris Cutlery has a couple with Macassar Ebony handles, and at a much lower cost than the
Americanized versions. The steel is not stainless, but the knives are real.
