 I have a grizzly grinder on the way but I went to POP's web site for the 2x72 in belts but there so many kinds it got confused. Which are the best kind to start off with? HELP!!!!

The ones you can afford....... As far as grits go I'd skip the 36 and get 60, something between 120-180, and either a 320 or 400....... Hope that helps you out. Once you do a few blades you'll find out what works best for you.

I guess that I should have asked the ? differently. What type of belts....
Ceramic 997 regalloy
967 cubitron
963 g
Regalite Polycut 707e

that type of thing. Thanks for the reply on the grits.

It depends alot on what you grinding. I've used the top two on your list and they work fine for me. Maybe buy one of each and decide for yourself.....

Gonna be working on 01 and d2 for now. I know everyone has their own style and likes and dislikes....just looking for all the help ,to get started ,that I can get. Thanks for the prompt reply. All you guys have been of great help and inspiration.

From my experiance it cost alot more to use the cheaper belts , because you end up using alot more of them. Do not use aluminum oxide belts until finer grits like 320, 400 . I have found in the course grits( I use 60,and 120)that the ceramic Norton hoggers work the best, and will save you money ,because they last for ever. D2 is fairly hard to grind ,but the ceramic makes it much more forgiving.
