I've been thinking about buying a cold steel knife, maybe a voyager or a scimtar. I've choosen cold steel because their locks seem to be pretty strong. What do you guys think about it? Any other suggestions?

You want strong? Try the Benchmade Axis Lock (three models) or the REKAT Rolling Lock (three models).

You want reliable, then try the Sebenza with Integral Lock.

you said "best lock" so here i go. i don't consider a lock to be the best because it is the strongest. i am used to regular lockbacks and never had a problem with them, but i also love the axis. it is stronger and is still ambidextrous, also very smooth. i don't really like liner locks, and am waiting for a frame lock, so i can't comment there. the rolling lock is strong, but i don't really care for it. too complex in my opinion. in reality, the best lock is the one you are most comfortable with. on my person right now, i have four spyderco lockbacks. but that's me.

I carried a slipjoint, liner lock, Axis Lock, button lock and a Integral Lock today. I added a toolbelt, and that put a Rolling Lock in as well. All great when executed correctly.

Strongest lock, I'll put the lock of the Uluchet up for that award. When Cliff did the testing a while back it faired quite well.

The most reliable, and therefore the best locks available right now on production knives are the Axis lock Benchmades, the Benchmade Pinnacle (integral lock), Sebenza integral locks, REKAT Rolling lock Pioneer II and Carnivore, and the SpeedTech Synergy button lock, the Gerber Covert (liner lock with safety), and Spyderco Centofante II (liner lock with safety).

Exactly what Steve said! I couldn't add more.
