Which knife should I get for a EDC knife?

Benchmade Mini Griptillian
Spyderco Paramilitary
Other

ADDED - Spyderco Sage.

Please suggest a knife if you have anything else in mind. I have 120 dollars to spend on a good knife. Thanks.

between those 2 choices I would go with the Spyderco.

you can never go wrong with a Spyderco!

what about an ESEE? maybe the RC-3, RC-4 and then there's always the IZULA!

I have an izula, and I love it. I want a folder though.

Para for sure! its a fantastic blade! i got a D2 para for $120 a few weeks back:eek: :D:D

I own both a 556 Mini Grip and a Para Military. I have not had the para long enough to really EDC it, but one thing I think I need to point out. The Para is a much larger knife than the Mini-Grip. Prolly closer to the full size Grip in size. Also, the Mini-Grip is almost half the price of the Para if you go to the right dealer, so I really put them in two different categories. Light/small EDC for the Mini-Grip, and Normal EDC for the Para, with both being top notch in their categories.

Now weight wise there is not that much difference, para is half an ounce heavier I believe, and it rides really great in the pocket. For my personal preference, I think the Para is much more my style. Not as gigantic as my Military, but still plenty of knife, and very comfy too. The mini-grip is very nice too, and the axis lock is wonderful, but my vote is for the Para.

Very informative. Thanks! But, what do you guys think about the Spyderco Sage?

Own/owned all the ones on your list. The Para trumps BM M-G easily.

Sage is nice. Fit and finish is superb, ergos are sweet. Ti framelock is always a huge plus. Still...the Para is my favorite from your list.

I would go with the paramilitary, nothing against Benchmade, I have several that I like very much but I have been more satisfied with my Spyderco knives in general and the Para is my absolute favorite folder so far, you cant go wrong there in my opinion

Spyderco para-M or Spyderco Bradley !!! both VERY good knifes cant go wrong

Gotta nail down the size/weight you are comfortable with for EDC. For some guys, the Mil or Para is fine. For others, they're waaay too much knife for EDC. Are you talking jeans & boots, dockers & pull over, slacks & jacket, or a suit? Big diff. If you're spending a lot of time in the rough and tumble, a bigger more heavy duty knife may be necessary. Otherwise, a smaller, lighter duty knife can be just the ticket. (As with guns and flashlights... it's really nice to have a variety of types and sizes to choose from!)

As for the Sage, I love it! Great for me with a Glock 30, jeans and motorcycle gear.

But for dockers on up, I find even the Sage a touch heavy/large and like a Glock 26 and G10 Dragonfly.

Not to make things more complicated, but I would also look at the Manix2 and FRN Stretch2 models. :D:thumbup:
