RC3 or RC4 or RC6 or IZULA?
Which is better for skinning, slicing, cutting, food prep and which can be made sharper?
What is your favorite knife out of all the knives you produce Jeff?

Depends on size of what you are slicing but generally RC3 wins the slice contest and is also Mr Randalls favorite but you need to buy all of them!

What type of knives do you carry? How are they lacking in preforming the tasks you do on a regular basis? Are there tasks they cant do, that you would like to? as for sharpness, they'll all go as sharp as your talent with a stone.

food prep, kyocera for sure. :)

I dont carry any fixed blade knives at the moment. I want to get a great one that will last and be able to tackle every day camping duties

The list of knives that fits that bill is longer than the internet :) Don't worry so much about getting the wrong one. grab whichever one you have an inclination towards, and get out there and use it. It's not like any knife CAN'T do any of those jobs...so grab one, and start enjoying it :)

The thinner the blade, the better the slice. If you want a really good slicer get a thinner edge on there as well, like 17 degrees instead of 20 or whatever.

I prefer the RC-3 for food prep and generally cutting but the Izula holds its own for sure, and carries very well.

Back when I had my first RC-4, I tried some common food prep slicing, and it did great. Contrary to the "coated blades don't cut well" mantra I've seen a lot lately from some knife makers.

The first thing I did with my RC-4 was slice some tomatoes in the garden.

With that said, the thinner blade of the RC-3 would be hard to beat for slicing purposes.

The Izula is my favorite edc,the RC3 is my favorite slicer, and the RC6 is my favorite woods knife.
