Just curious whic knife mag you think is the best. Not so much for collecting but for good info reviews etc. Thanks for the input.

none, IMO they're pretty much useless, especially useless for the reviews.

The only good parts are the articles by knife makers answering questions or knife law cases. Sometimes they will feature a maker and that's good.

You may not have heard about it. It is an online "publication"...it is called bladeforums.....:D

Blade and Tactical Knives.
The reviews may not be great and it may seem more like purchased advertising, however it great to see new and old knife makers being showcased and seeing all that is available around the globe with addresses and phone numbers. I was introduced to Busse, Spyderco and many individual makers in the magazine's pages. I also got wind of a knifemakers show in my city that I was not aware of. The only knife nuts I know are on this forum. :D
Buy it if you like it , don't if you don't, applies to magazines as well as knives.

In Australia we don't get much.
I read Tactical Knives because it is basically the best imported mag around.

Australia produce one called Knives Australia and that is in newspaper form and very interesting. More revolving around working knives, hence my interest in TK. Knives Australia is a quarterly though

I let my Blade sub run out, but am jonesing for a new one.

Not really a knife magazine, but Backwoodsman is a great read, Dan Schectman is a regular writer.

Blade,TK and Knives Ill. I do not read to much creedance into the reviews as good ones can be bought. If it sounds to good to be true,I'm sure they were paid. But,some of the reviews have turned out solid as well. They have great pics to look at and help me unwind in the late evening when I return home from work. Some of the other articles are fine as well.

Had them all, from Fighting Knives #2, through Blade, Knives Illustrated, and Tactical Knives.

They put the little voices in my head -and then I saw the MARSOC. I didn't know what I was up against.

Avoid the knife porn - it's addictive - I may never be the same; I used to be a slipjoint user, and now . . .

This forum is my knife magazine. I've read a bunch in the bookstores and I don't much care for them.

What Dave said, though i still pick up Blade, Tactical knives and one other whose name eludes me right now. lol.

Knifeworld for $25 a year if you like older knives. Blade at $30 a year for the rest. With specials you can get Blade for $25 and at $2 a copy its worth it. Not really worth the cover price.

I used to read TK, but believe their ethics are in the toilet. On at least three cases I've noted, knives were reviewed by makers/designers who work for the manufacturer of the product they reviewed. This is unethical journalism. In their editorial comments they've indicated that they don't report bad tests. They'll state in one article that 420HC is the best for the same application that in another article that S30V is the best. How can two vastly different stainless steels be the best for the same application? They recommended Allan Blade as as knifemaker in a special sidebar. He has a horrible multiple year history in the GBU section of numerous scams. He's taken money and not delivered from a host of customers and when he ran out of victims on this forum and the US he moved to the British forums and repeated his con gams. You can't trust any info in TK.

I don't think I've ever subscribed to one, and haven't read more than a couple of dozen issues, all told. The info you get, even about new products, isn't anything you can't get on the Internet. Nice pictures, though. There are definitely worse ways to spend your $$$.

The Knife World newspaper is a good read.

I pay attention to Dan Schectmans reviews, and sometimes Kim Breeds. Ed Fowler is an entertaining writer. Wayne Goddard and Joe Szilaski are good Q and A guys.
