Which knife should I buy?

I'm looking for a 6-7" fixed blade knife to fill the role of an all purpose blade ; ie bushcraft, camping/backpacking and even last ditch self defense. Money is an issue, so I need to choose carefully. I've narrowed it down to the Knife Research "Legion" that sells for $290 shipped, and the Busse TGLB with competition finish for $337. I can have the Legion at my door in 4-5 days, and the Busse in 4-14 weeks. We all know how amazing infi steel performs, and I've heard good things about the Sleipner steel as well. The $47 savings would really help right now, but if the busse is light years ahead I'm willing to bite the bullet. Keeping in mind I won't be smashing cinder blocks with the knife, what would you guys recommend I buy?

hmmm...If $47 savings would help, then $200 savings would be even better, right...how about a BK9 or something instead, for the time being???

Sorry for not choosing between the Legion or Busse.

Well I ended up going with the Knife research Legion. I definitely plan to obtain a Busse later down the line, ( I owned a Busse basic 4 a while back so I know it's a great product). My grail knife would be an Ash-1 someday or maybe a Natural Outlaw, but I need to get the funds together first. Anyway thanks for the advice and input.

That's exactly what I thought. A 10 dollar machete will do the job. Why spend 100's if money is tight? The unobtanium steel survival knife idea is fantasy. Basic cheap steel works just fine.

I had to google it as I've never heard of it. Looks pretty good. Let us know how you like it.

Edit: Wanted to clarify that there's nothing wrong with super duper knives, I just take issue with the notion it's some how an absolute necessity. Which it isn't.

Blixx, I appreciate the BK 9 suggestion, but I just can't warm up to those knives. Money is tight, but not to the point that this purchase will ruin me...I suppose I didn't communicate that part well. Shotgun, I will definitely post some pics of the Legion with a short review of it's performance. Thanks again to everybody who gave advice and input in this thread.
