Which knife should I buy?

Hello, (I hope this is not the wrong area to post this).
I would like to get some opinions. I'm wanting a high quality knife (at least high quality to me) IE, Esee/Izula/Becker/Rat/Tops 3" to 6" fixed blades. I've become somewhat confused because one knife leads to another knife, so I research them and then I think this one is the way to go, but the more I know - the less I know. I'm wanting one last knife (getting old) and hand it down, but I would like the highest quality (can't afford custom) for a fair price - $75.00 - $150.00. Are there be certain little things to look for that makes it a more sought after knife.... like serial numbered, sharpened pommel, certain accessorizes... suggestions from anyone will be appreciated!

Well ESEE knives are simple, but highly functional knives that are made to be used. IMO if you are looking for a knife to use and to hand down, I would have to recommend a Black Jack, or a Bark River. Some of the smaller more nimble designs are in your price range. They make some of the best knives in the world, and they are beautiful knives that offer a WIDE ARRAY of handle material options. Bark River has more options in the handle category than Black Jack, but they are made by the same company. Also one of the best warranties in the business, if not the best. And that goes for both the Black Jacks and Bark Rivers. I have ESEE, Bark River, and Black Jacks, and they all are very fine cutlery, but the Bark River and Black Jacks are the most comfortable to use, and best looking.

P.S. Bark River knives offer what they call a Spa Treatment for their knives. For the return shipping only, they will restore any of their knives to new condition for free. So if you are looking to hand one down on day, then this would be a fantastic perk to have.

It should be a personal choice- the one that "speaks" to you the most will have attributes you are partial to- therefor reflecting your character.
Don't over think it- go with your heart, the recipient will love it as it comes from you, not for the lifetime warranty.
JMHO

I thank you guy's for your knowledge about knives. I've checked them all out and am continuing to search. I liked them all a lot! Bark River is a bit pricey for me, but they are nice for sure. I came across Top's knives and liked them to.

Thanks again!
