Hopefully this is in the right area correct me if I am wrong I have been thinking about this for a while now and can't make my mind up I have a coldsteel recon 1 and a leatherman wave right now I carry both with me every where literally and I was thinking is it worth it? should I carry both or just one of the two and if so which one? so let me know what your opinion on this is also my leatherman is in perfect shape just some scratches but my recon 1 the coating on it is chipping and there is a small chip on the edge that I mostly filed out

If you are carrying these knifes for safety purpose then I would suggest you to carry cold steel recon 1 otherwise for any other use you can carry leatherman wave. But personally I prefer for cold steel recon 1.

I'd carry whichever you use more often right now.

Personally I use my wave more often than any knife I carry so if I had to pick one is pick my wave.

Well for self defense I carry a tactical pen but if that fails I would use my recon 1 so far I might as well carry both

Well that would be hard for me since I use both of them equally guess I should carry both for now until I can make my mind up if I can

Pop into the EDC IV thread. Some of the guys in this forum carry 2 folders, a fixed blade, a multitool, fire tin, hand grenades and a pistol.

If you can comfortably carry both and have a use for both, even if that use is just the warm and fuzzies, go for it. I personally carry 2 folders daily, with a small multitool near by. There is also a full size multitool among other tools in my vehicle.

Eta: Welcome to Bladeforums!

I often carry a locking folder and a multitool. I love my Wave but unless I foresee needing pliers a Victoronox is easier to tag along with my knife.

A typical day for me would be a Benchmade Griptillian and a Victorinox Tinker or Farmer.

Like many others, I carry a folder and a multi-tool daily, usually some sort of Kershaw and a Leatherman Wingman. I could probably function with just the Leatherman, but my most frequently carried EDC knife, a Kershaw One Ton, has proven to be most helpful for some of the more unexpected but necessary cutting tasks I've been faced with in my work environment. If KAI ever decides to make a ZT version that is just as slim but with better steel, that might very well be my ideal EDC.

No reason not to carry both a knife and a multi-tool if you have the space and even a remote expectation of using both.
