Here in Oregon, we're doing the election entirely by mail. Essentially, the whole state's voting absentee. I wonder what message that sends about us?

Anyway, you vote by punching out little squares from a paper card. Basically, this the last harrah for the IBM punch card. (The state probably found a bunch of old punch card reader machines on eBay.)

The state advises that you punch the little squares out with the tip of a pencil, but this seemed like a job for a knife to me. I started with a Benchmade AFCK, but the point just wasn't pointy enough. So, I switched to a Benchmade 42 and it was perfect.

You gotta love Oregon, the state where you can use a knife to cast your vote.

I'm thinking that one of those little TenMil knives that Patrick sells at Triple Aught Design would be perfect for you, Gollnick. A couple of the models have button actuated gravity spikes which slide out from the back end. I bet these would be perfect for punching out those little squares.

So, how does the state do the security on the election? Meaning if they send the ballot in the mail whats to prevent say my wife filling them out and sending it in. She may not have voted for who I wanted. Sounds like it would be a problem.

just wondering.

I just got my BM42 in the mail today. Punching ballots sounds like a great idea. Now, what do you use to get blood off your keyboard
