Which knife is the same thing as the benchmade 940?only cheaper. The benchmade's as almost out of my price range,it is a real stretch for me to get one.thanks

I would begin with a RAT 1 by Ontario. Designed by Jeff Randall, it is a great option. I have many knives but this one is in my rotation.

I don't think there's another knife that's quite like the 940, especially not on a budget. What specifically do you want? Axis lock, reverse tanto, slim scales and low weight, blade to handle ratio, blade steel? Those are all reasons the 940 is a great knife, but there might be viable alternatives if you want only one or some rather than all of those qualities.

As others have asked, what is it about the 940 that you like? Without any other info, the best I can do is suggest the Benchmade 710. It also has an axis lock, slim handle and blade (though the blade is much longer), and light weight for its size. It's still not super cheap though, as they go for around $135-160 new or $80-100 used. If you want to go budget, there isn't anything remotely like a 940. The best you can hope for is a similar size knife with slim handles.

slim blade, longer, thinner than what I have now which is the griptillian and the mini gryptian.
