It will be used mainly for chopping tasks and wood processing. This will be a pack knife and not worn on my belt.

The candidates are:

Esee Junglas

Ontario Rtak II

Ontario RD 9

Ontario RD 9 Bush Series

Becker BK 9

All seem to be good quality knives, just want to know how they perform from people who have used them.

Thanks :)

so far the Esee seems to be the winner. I have been leaning that way myself.

Aye, another vote for the Esee. Never used it myself, but I've held them. Monstrous knives, but you can tell they're made for wood work.

The ESEE out of what you have listed. Personally, I'd go bigger since it's riding on a pack. Something with at least a 12" blade, if not just a heavy bladed machete.

A Becker with the blade profile of the BK9 but with a 12" blade would be badass.

Just got the Becker BK-9 though haven't used/abused it yet. But from those said knives listed above, they pretty much should all be good to go. Also, even though it's not listed me thinks the SP-53 is a potential one for the price. Hope you find what you're looking for!

Out of the models listed, I would pick the Esse Junglas.

It is a great knife for the money. Fantastic warranty.

Based on looks id go with the junglas. Based on what you get for price id get bk9. Based on best steel and quality for under 200 id get swamp rat rodent 9.
