The wife and I are in the market for a 46" or 55" LED LCD 120Hz or 240Hz TV. We're trying to decide on which manufacturer to get. Our budget is $2000 with an absolute hard ceiling of $2500.

Just wanted to take a survey and see what brand most folks here like. Vizio? Sony? Panasonic?

Not sure about the price for a 55 in. but I bought a Samsung 46 in. LED LCD 2 years ago and have no problems and love the picture.

Big + 1 for SAMSUNG.

Costs a little more, but well worth it. If you want to save 30% on some no-name brand you'll regret it. Be sure to look at plenty of online reviews before you buy.

We were looking last year and every TV I looked at the Samsung showed the best picture so that is what we bought.

46" LG here. side by side with the Samsung, the LG just looked a little brighter and sharper. A year later, and I still marvel at what a nice picture it provides, esp with HD sporting events, or special effects-heavy movies on blu-ray.

Samsung for sure. They actually make a lot of the parts for sony, but use a glossy screen vs sony's matte, so Samsung will have a clear/more vivid/bright colors & picture.

Plus they are cheaper than sony's but have a higher/the same quality.

I have 2 Samsungs in the house & probably wouldnt buy anything else from here on out.

Samsung

I have a Samsung 7000 Series 55' LED and I absolutely love it. :)

Most of the time they sit around $2500, but can be found at $2000 with not much effort.
I picked mine up at Best Buy for $2099 on sale, and they included Samsung's best blu-ray player and two pair of 3D glasses. $400 player. :)

I was going to say SAMSUNG.

And then 10 people beat me to it. Just get one, you won't be disappointed.

lg for the win 47 inch 1080p 2.4 mil sec gray to gray 120 hz awsum pic no judder and much more only 850.00 shipped. It smokes my brother inlaws samsung which cost double!

I should also point out that the LED LCD's are a little sensitive to light. If there is a window or other light source shining towards the TV, you will simply have to close the curtains, blinds, etc.

If you have a Costco nearby check their prices.. I found they have the best prices, and their no questions asked for 90 days is the best.

Samsung or Sony are both awesome.. Always go bigger.. I have 2-55" sonys and they are great..

I also have a Vizio 42" and have no problems.. but I know from a few of my friends their customer service sucks!!

Samsung all the way...bought me a 46in LED last yr and loooove it, but only complaint is it gets a bit blurry during action/sports scenes..well fast moving scenes..wish i had actually bought a Plasma now..but its not thaat big of a diff..just something to consider when buying..
