Which Line of Knives?

I've been a gun dealer since 2003, and I've always carried a few knives also. I'm changing my business plan a little bit, and am looking at carrying more quality US made knives. I will no longer offer foreign made knives for sale. I feel that there are several quality companies in the US, that I don't need to go overseas. I have most of the brands decided that I will be carrying, but I'm having a hard time deciding between carrying EESE or Tops. Which brand do you think makes a superior knife for the money and why. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks
Jess

Esee provides a superior quality product for the money and they have the best warranty in the business!

Carry both as well as KaBar/Becker and a couple of other choices. Give the customer some choices.

TOPS have way too many designs, IMHO. As far as keeping an inventory, you would have to choose which knives to stock.
ESEE has fewer knives, a big following, and you could stock every model.
With that said, I own a few TOPS, and they are of equal quality, just a different design.

Mooseyard, being a gun guy all my life and just recently getting into the knife area, & from what I have learned on the forums in my short time here, ESEE & Becker would be the ones I would look at if I came into your establishment. ESEE has bar none the best warranty in the business, & you can find "the man" himself on the forum interacting with his customers. Not much more can be said about that, speaks for itself.
Good luck with your search.
Be safe.

I'd go with ESEE. As noted above, it has a huge, loyal following.

To me, a lot of Tops knives are designed to look badass. Nothing wrong with that, but I think the ESEE designs have a broader appeal.

Someone with more knowledge can confirm or refute this, but I think both Tops and ESEE are made by the same maker, i.e. Rowan, so quality should be equal.

I concur that ESEE and Becker would be two very solid choices. For people where the ESEEs are a little beyond their means Beckers' would rule.

ESEE for certain. As has been mentioned, if you haven't already done so, you ought also to check into Becker knives.

While you're about it, why not consider stocking a range of Great Eastern Cutlery? They make superb Traditional knives - slipjoints, liner locks and lockbacks. Many of your customers may fancy a Traditional pocket knife. Just a suggestion.

+1 on the traditionals and slippies!
